Mid-America Climate Fundamentals Academy (Workshop #2 of 2)

The Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) is offering a series of 2-day training academies in and near Kansas City, Missouri to help participants build competencies to effectively integrate climate change into their decision-making and professional activities.  This series provides participants with training that will prepare them for the Certified Climate Change Professional® (CC-P®) credential exams and will satisfy the corresponding elective requirements by leveraging a combination of on-demand online training resources and in-person cohort training.

Held in partnership with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), participants will learn from experts and community leaders about the implications of climate change, and related opportunities, with a regional focus added for Kansas City, Missouri and the mid-America region of the United States. Professionals across occupations in the public and private sectors, higher education and the NGO community will benefit from this training series.

  • Day 3: Governance, Law & Policy

    • Governance-101: Engaging Stakeholders & Establishing Early Strategies for Leading Organizational Change

    • Governance-102: The Legal/Policy Landscape of Climate Change & Related Implications

    • Governance-103: Ethics, Liability & Professionalism

    • Governance-203: Collaborating Beyond Organizational & Institutional Boundaries

    • Case Study: Mapping Preparedness in Key Decision-Making Roles

  • Day 4: Materiality, Risk Management & Economics

    • Economics-101: The Economics of Climate Change

    • Enterprise-201: Analyzing & Managing Climate Risk

Registration Information:

  • Individual Workshop: $395 (general) / $295 (government)

  • Registration Schedule: Registration for this workshop (separate from the first workshop in this series) will open on October 24, 2019. The deadline will be November 25, 2019. Series registrants are not required to register for this individual workshop.
